From Property Owners

• Name, email address, and password (for account creation)
• Property details — name, address, type, rent amount
• Financial records — receipts, deposits, meter readings
• Photos of the property, furniture, and appliances
• Payment information processed via Razorpay (we do not store card details)

From Tenants

• Name, email address, and password
• KYC documents — Aadhaar, PAN card, passport, driving licence, employment proof
• Personal details — phone, date of birth, occupation, permanent address
• Lease details — start/end dates, rent amount, security deposit
• Repair requests and bill uploads

Automatically Collected

• Login timestamps and session data
• Device type and browser information

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the Rentiz service — property management, tenant communication, document storage
• To process payments via Razorpay
• To send important notifications — invite emails, repair alerts, reminders
• To improve our product and fix issues
• To comply with legal obligations

4. How We Store Your Data

All data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS servers. KYC documents are stored in a private, encrypted storage bucket and are only accessible to the relevant tenant and their property owner. We use row-level security to ensure users can only access their own data.

Photos are compressed before storage to reduce size. KYC documents are watermarked with "Rentiz — For Verification Purpose Only" before storage.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Razorpay — for payment processing
• Supabase — for database and file storage
• Resend — for transactional email delivery
• Law enforcement, if required by Indian law

6. KYC Document Security

KYC documents (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.) are treated with the highest level of care. They are stored in a private bucket, accessible only via time-limited signed URLs that expire after 1 hour. Only the tenant who uploaded the document and their property owner can view them.

7. Your Rights

• Access — You can request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correction — You can update your personal information within the app
• Deletion — You can request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Portability — You can request an export of your data

8. Cookies

Rentiz uses only essential session cookies required for authentication. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Rentiz is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of Rentiz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
